GETTING
STARTED
First,
call us for an appointment: we’ll schedule a Low Vision
evaluation with our doctors. It takes approximately 1 ½
hours.
LOW
VISION EVALUATION
When
you arrive, you’ll receive a comprehensive evaluation
with one of our Low Vision specialist. When you and the optometrist
determine what works best for you, the option of taking it
home on loan to try in the real world is available.
A follow-up appointment will normally be scheduled in about
two weeks to determine if you are successfully utilizing the
prescribed devices. At the Low Vision Clinic, it is all about
patient success.
THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY-HERE IN SACRAMENTO
Sometimes
the best solution for you is surprising low-tech, such as
one of the hundreds of simple magnifiers we carry. Other times,
the right solution demands the latest in high-tech equipment.
Available options include:
· Pocket-size electronic magnifiers that you can use
on any TV
· Head-mounted magnifying devices
· Color and black-n-white reading enlarger
· Special sunglasses and shades for people sensitive
to light.
